Water bottles make skylights for homes in the Philippines
Simply placing a bottle of water in a hole in the ceiling can light up a room with the same brightness as a 50-watt light bulb - what a concept! A friend tagged this on Facebook and I found several well documented sites:
- Tour of Light has the background story in the Philippines.
- Treehugger has videos from an application in Brazil.
- Yahoo Noticias has a blog in Spanish with the best pictures
This is very low tech that can be implemenet with minimal resources and cost anywhere.
